Started Beyond

Post by brenm37 » Mon Nov 08, 2010 7:28 pm

I just started Beyond last week with my almost 7 year old dd. We are both really enjoying it! (We had a hard time getting into LHFHG last year, so ended up not completing it.) We are taking it very slow, as I don't want her to hit Bigger til 3rd grade. She loves the activities and poetry reading - me too, as they are allowing us to have some fun together in our school day.

My oldest dd (11 yo) is in Unit 16 of CTC and has hit quite the groove, no complaining and does all the work independently. I just bumped my middle dd (9 yo) up to full speed in CTC, she is in Unit 6 and starting to hit her groove with the increased work load.

HOD makes our school day flow and I am so happy to have found it! :D

Hi Brenda,

So glad it is working for you! I just started Beyond with my just 7 yr old (we are at the end of Unit 2) and my nearly 9 year old just started Preparing....we are loving it also!

We can enjoy the journey together (from opposite sides of the planet!) Lol.

Brenda,

I'm so glad that you are getting a chance to use and enjoy Beyond and CTC! :D We are getting ever so close to finishing Beyond here with my third little guy and are enjoying every minute of it. We are loving RTR here too with my second oldest son! The time spent in CTC really prepares kiddos well for RTR. We pray the Lord will richly bless your homeschooling days! Thanks for sharing. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

That's great to hear, Brenda! :D We did CTC and Beyond last year and enjoyed it thoroughly! I think you will find Bigger Hearts and RTR a nice combination too. I agree about taking it slow to get to Bigger Hearts. We are going half-speed as my little guy is 7 yo, and we are loving this pacing. It is allowing us extra time to draw out things so my artsy little guy can put his creative side to work extra long. :D Isn't it amazing how much of a difference it makes when dc get older and can take on more independence? Our whole family has loved this progression - my oldest because he was ready for more independence, my middle ds because he was wanting more of me, and my littlest because he wanted a bit of me too. RTR is an outstanding follow-up to CTC! Happy years ahead too. :D
