GREAT first two weeks of Preparing!

Just wanted to share that in spite of all the craziness of a newborn and Ezra's head injury, etc., my oldest DS (8.5yo) has jumped right into Preparing and is LOVING it! :D No complaining, even though his workload and the amount of writing has definitely increased from Bigger. His attitude towards school and doing his best has been great -- which hasn't always been the case! He says his favorite box is Science and doing the experiments without any help! Just so thankful for HOD and I LOVE seeing the fruit from Bigger as we begin our second program and year with HOD. The programs truly do build upon each other.

DS2(5.5yo) is LOVING LHFHG -- wish I had done it for my first DS's K year -- it would have been so much more enjoyable and less stressful, but it was my first year homeschooling and I felt like I had to prove something to myself and everyone around me, so I pushed my oldest DS a bit too much. :( I am much more laid-back and not nearly as pushy/perfectionistic this second time around! Anyway, just thanking God for leading us to HOD -- I would be completely overwhelmed and tempted to give up right now with a new baby, a preschooler, and homeschooling two without it! :D

It is so true!!! And congratulations!!! A few months ago my words were "Preparing Hearts makes our homeschool possible!" I am so happy for you!! Preparing is such a wonderful program anyway, but it really does make hschooling possible for those of us who can't put it all together on our own. Carrie chose PERFECT resources for the study of world history. We love ALL the books. Keep going!! Read Isaiah 50:7.

God Bless,
Liz

That is awesome Jessica! So glad that your son is enjoying school with a good attitude! We have ( and sometimes still do) struggle with this in our home. Before HOD, I would tell him on his bad attitude days that school is school and he has to do it weither he likes it or not. But HOD has helped me to grow spirtiually as well as my kids so now on his bad attitude days we take a little break and I talk to him and pray with him about doing everything with a cheerful heart for the Lord.

Congrats on the new little one!

3sweeties - That's wonderful to hear! :D I'm so proud of your 8.5 yo taking off with PHFHG. I am in that building year right now within BHFHG with my middle ds, and I know this year is so important. It's a sign you did your part to work alongside your ds in Bigger Hearts that he is doing so well with PHFHG, and also a sign he did his part. You will reap the fruit of that harvest for years to come. :D I'm glad your little one doing LHFHG is enjoying it too. That is just plain fun to teach! :) I'm praising God with you that little Ezra is recovering so well, and your little babe is thriving! We as moms need to recognize and celebrate when things are going well - not perfect - but very well! Life is never perfect, so if we wait to celebrate only when everything is going right - we will have nothing to celebrate. Kuddos to you for celebrating now rather than thinking "woe is me" as you have had your fair share of difficulties amongst this piece of happiness!

"Put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, lift up your voice in praise! Praise in the spirit, and in understanding, oh magnify the Lord!"

I love that song - you personify it! :D
In Christ,
Julie
