First day of HOD done!

It went well! My choices of Preparing and Beyond seem to be the right choice for my kids skill levels and they enjoyed all the variety of things they had to do. I need to work on my timing of who to help when so that they aren't kept waiting, but this will come over the next few weeks I assume! I still got it all done within 3 hours for Preparing and within 2.5 for Beyond including a few breaks so that is pretty good! I think I will wait 'til I have our routine down pat before adding in DITHOR for my dd in Preparing....might be a bit overwhelming for her (and me) to do it right now.....lol.
I am learning so much already! Yay!

Glad you had a good first day. You will get a routine down. It takes me a unit or two to decide the order I want to do the boxes in, then I make a checklist and list the boxes in order. By the time I get to that point I am pretty set.

Wow - time flew by! That is pretty great for the first day especially! I'm so glad you are off to such a solid start. Way to go!

We did PHFHG and Beyond at the same time a few years ago. That's such a nice combination - the older is quite independent, and the younger is needing you more - and the time can easily be allocated appropriately for both. Very nice - you have lots of fun days ahead of you.
In Christ,
Julie

Thanks ladies....
I left the masking tape earth + continents set up on our floor yesterday and the kids loved playing with it all afternoon. They played Simon Says with it which worked really well....(eg. Simon says, jump to Africa etc etc)
Looking forward to another day of fun!

cirons,
I'm late to chime in but wanted to rejoice with you too. Hopefully, you've had a great first week. It's always good to get that underway and settle in a bit!
Blessings,
Carrie
