Shoud I combine 2 kids for Bible in one program?

Post by tbarr12 » Tue Oct 12, 2010 2:16 pm

I will be starting to use 3 guides on Thursday - LHFHG, Bigger, and Preparing. I am trying to simplify this as much as possible. Does anyone know of a reason why I couldn't combine my oldest 2 in Bible Study for Bigger? I can already see that Bigger is quite a challenging program, and I can't see that the bible portion is so closely related to the lessons that it would make a difference one way or the other. This is what I'm leaning towards doing, but if anyone knows of a reason that that wouldn't be good, I'd be glad to hear it. Thanks.

Both Bible studies are excellent, so you can't go wrong there. Bigger Heart's Bible study is focused on character traits, which is such a neat way to open the door for discussions that we need to have with our dc in regard to habit training. I have appreciated being able to discuss this individually with each of our dc, as they are more open about sharing what they truly need to work on improving. Together, they would not have shared as easily. However, I fully recognize that this may be unique to our dc due to their ages and their both being boys - somewhat competitive, though they are great friends as well as brothers. :D That is the only potential drawback I can think of the 2 of them both doing that study together. Also, one of the Bible Study days in PHFHG has dc do their own Bible Quiet time, which is excellent training for the Bible Quiet Time planned daily in CTC. Those are the only 2 considerations I can think of - so doing 1 study with the 2 of them would definitely work - it just will depend on how your 2 dc are together, and what goals you have for them in this area. HTH! :D
