HOD is great for those tougher season's in life

The thread on HOD being so good for kids with special needs got me thinking about how it is also perfect for when you go through those "tougher" seasons of life. Starting back in March our lives took several unexpected turns. First my mom fell down the stairs and was in the hospital for almost 5 months, then my dh's mom's cancer returned and quickly progressed and she passed away this summer, and then our closest friends/neighbors/music minister and his wife very unexpectedly moved. We also have just left our church of 11 years and moved to a new one. In addition my dd was diagnosed with ADD and we have been trying different medications for her. All of these things have taken a toll on our family, and if I wasn't doing HOD with my ds I am not sure I could have kept up with the homeschooling. On the days when I felt like I just didn't have the energy to do anything, I was still able to do school and actually have fun with it. HOD just makes it so easy. I wish my dd was able to do HOD, but that didn't work out with what she needed to study, but just having one that I know is getting a solid, God honoring program sure helps. Also it is amazing how God has spoken to me through the verses my ds is learning or something he is studying. So once again Carrie I just have to say thank you for letting God use you to develop a curriculum that meets so many needs in so many people.
