A friend loaned me one, it no longer has the cover on it, it is 618 pages long, that includes the index. The one on the HOD website is 439 pages long. The chapters are not matching up. Are there other versions?
i think I'll just have to order it for myself.
thanks

Katherine,
I'm so glad that you'll get a chance to use Preparing Hearts! We pray it will bless your family. A Child's History of the World is a book that has been published in many different versions and sizes through the years, affecting the page numbers. So, even a version from the same year may not be the same page number wise as the one we schedule in our guide. I own several different versions of A Child's History of the World myself, all with different page numbers. The book has been reprinted so many times in so many versions that this makes it impossible to schedule all the various versions to go along with our guide. We do make mention of the many various versions in our Introduction to Preparing Hearts to let you know that the only version we can be sure matches our guide is the one that we currently carry in our store.
If the key ideas are not matching what you are reading, it would definitely be worthwhile to switch to the version we carry on our website. This is due to the fact that the entire book is used within Preparing Hearts and is one of the spines or cores of the program. The version we carry also has additional chapters that were added on the end and were not contained in the original edition. Here's a link to the version you will need to match our guide. Link:
