I so loved our watercolors this week ... (the one in the middle is not HOD - just my little one studying A and apple this week)

Those are amazing! And I am so excited because my son made his background today for Unit 6 poetry. I am so excited to see how beautiful the finished product may be!

Thanks ladies! I thought so, too. These were my favorite so far and as I looked back over the first 5 weeks I can really see progress in their painting skills. I really love this part of CTC

I do too! Dh says I have some kind of repressed artistic ability pent up from childhood. Half the time, when ds is doing his painting, I do one right along beside him! LOL

I make one, too (but I do use our "cheap" paper and save the good paper for them). I tell them it is an example so I can help them with theirs but the truth is I love it, too!

LOL I even use the expensive paper! I love to paint.

As a matter of fact, after seeing this post, I went ahead and finished mine this weekend. I use the "here is your example" thing too...but like you, I just love to do the painting with him. We really bond over painting time too. I love it!

We seem to bond over it, too. One of the reasons I love doing the watercolors in CTC is that they all turn out different and beautiful so there is lots of praise going on for everyone and not lots of comparing work or critiquing. It is great! And so much fun to have fun with them

Oh my goodness, ladies! These paintings are so beautiful!

We are doing picture study of famous paintings in RTR right now, and the watercolor painting we did in CTC have helped my ds fully appreciate how amazing these paintings are as he realizes the hard work and talent it took to make them. I loved reading this post and seeing these lovely paintings, as well as thinking of you ladies sitting near your dc making a special memory with them as you painted together - thank you so much for sharing!
In Christ,
Julie

Ooh, ladies! I loved seeing these!

It brings tears to my eyes to think of you painting together and sharing the joy of art as you work together. The paintings turned out so beautiful. The poetry really does come to life through the painting, doesn't it. Gotta love Robert Frost for his imagery!
Blessings,
Carrie
