We are on LHFHG Unit 5, making the quail. (Those quail sure are interesting.) Not sure we got it right, but that obviously didn't matter. My oldest son told me this was the best day of school yet. He said it was so much fun he forgot this was a part of school!

That is so wonderful! I'm glad you both are having so much fun! That's the way learning is supposed to be.

How cute! My boys flew their quails for many days afterwards and made many other versions. Even my oldest son jumped in and designed and flew variations of them!

That's precious! There are so many reasons I am glad I am homeschooling, but one of them is that we can do projects like this. I remember teaching in ps and skipping lots of hands-on projects and experiments. Having 30 dc do them at the same time, and having enough supplies for them to do it, just wasn't feasible or enjoyable for anyone. Experiments were the same way ... lots of the class watching me do them, when we did do them. I LOVE that our dc get to do things like make a quail every day, and yeah, they probably don't even feel like it's "school"! I sure don't.
