HOD helping sibling relationship
HOD helping sibling relationship
My ds is 11 and dd is 15. To be honest they are not very close. They fight a lot! When I brought ds home last year it made it worse. This year my DD decided to come home. She is doing her own 10th grade curriculum, but I let her do the watercolor paintings and the history projects with him, just to give her some fun things to do. My ds really likes her joining him. He will change things around just to make sure she is able to do them with him. It is pretty awesome to see. This past week they got all the painting stuff out together and then she even praised him on how nice his painting looked. They even laughed together while they worked. He really does look up to her and loves that she wants to do something with him. I am praying that homeschooling together will bring them closer and I am thankful that HOD is helping to initiate that .

Re: HOD helping sibling relationship
This is neat to hear. I'm glad the 2 of them are drawing nearer one another.
This is one of our family's ultimate goals of homeschooling - our dc being lifelong friends. It's not always an easy thing that happens naturally, but I think it is a worthy goal. My two sisters and I were each other's best friends for many of the years of our growing up. We continue to be very close. We've often talked about what made that happen (other than by the grace of God
). We have decided it was because we lived on a farm away from others and had only each other to play with day in and day out. We HAD to pick each other as friends, or we wouldn't have had any.
Sheer time together was on our side. We loved each other because of it, and still do. I hope the same happens with your 2 dc - as well a with my 3 dc. What a blessing to already see some fruits of your 2 dc being home together!
In Christ,
Julie

That's so neat to hear! I'm glad to know that even as they get older that HOD still helps to build that sibling relationship.
I know we've found with homeschooling and especially HOD that our kiddos are so close. Ours are very young still (all 7 and under) but I think that them being together every day doing school and sharing all of the great activities that HOD has to offer has helped them to grow so close together.

Oh, Lynn! I was so happy to read this. After having the privilege of meeting both your son and daughter in Cincinnati (I think it was there
) this past year, I can picture both of them in my mind!
It DOES do a momma's heart good to see those moments. It is what keeps us going when we wonder if we can balance it all.
Those moments are ones to treasure it in your heart!
It is my heart's desire for my own boys too.
Blessings,
Carrie
