Woohoo!

Post by GinainMD » Tue Sep 07, 2010 11:57 am

Hello ladies! Just had to pop in and tell everyone how awesome our first day of Beyond was today. The verse for this week, "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety."NIV, especially spoke to my oldest who has been having a hard time sleeping at night because she is fearful. Day 1 has just the right balance for my two older dds. Just have to find some other activities for the younger 2 who managed to strip my bed down to the mattress  while we were involved in something else. Overall, what a great start to the school year. Blessings

Yay Gina! So happy for you!

As far as the mischief goes, you may be able to minimize it by setting out playdough or having a certain area for blocks within your supervision. I've even heard of a mom setting up a water play station at the kitchen sink, although mine couldn't be trusted that far!

A friend of mine who homeschools and has 6 dc, once found her bathtub full of crawfish...

As for me, I have had curtains pulled down, blinds broken, beds stripped and the mattress pulled into the floor. In fact once, a couple of days after my 2 youngers had played so nicely (or so I thought) in smallest dd's bedroom, I noticed I couldn't find clean panties for her. Later that day I was in the backyard with them pushing them on their swingset and I noticed a pile of colorful items beneath smallest dd's bedroom window. Upon walking over, I discovered all of her panties laying on the ground. Evidently, the two youngers who were playing so "nicely" had poked a hole in the window screen and pushed all of the panties through the screen onto the ground! :D Thankfully I discovered this before a huge thunderstorm with winds that shook the house came that night...try explaining that to the neighbors!!

Wouldn't it be funny (if allowed) if we all shared some mischief that our little ones have gotten into?

Gina,

I'm so glad that you are underway! It sounds like you are having a great start to your year! We pray you will enjoy Beyond as much as we have been, as we're finishing it this year with our third little guy!

My own little 4 year old powdered his flour two afternoons ago pretending the powder was dust, so that he could clean the 'dust' up with a rag. :D He was VERY QUIET while he was doing it. We've come to think silence is a sure sign a little one is up to no good.

Blessings,
Carrie
