I have a daughter in 2nd grade and one in 1st. Would you recommend using the little hearts for his glory for the first grader and the second grader in beyond little hearts for His glory? My 2nd grade daughter already did the 1st grade in LHFHG. Just wondering if it would be easier to have them both in the older curriculum or seperate? Thanks for any suggestions...is it hard to do two seperate curriculums at the same time?..I was suggested by someone to put them both in the older curriculum but they have never used this curriculum and I would use the LHFHG workbooks with the 1st grader still. Thanks everyone who anwsers.

It depends on where your younger child is, skill-wise. Where does she fit on the placement chart? Going by age and not knowing anything about your kids, since the older already used LHFHG you could combine them in Beyond, as they are both in the age range. You would just need to get the appropriate phonics/reading and math for each child. If you are using Singapore Math for the first time with either of them, I would recommend having them take the palcement test first to be sure they start at the right level.
Hope that helps :)

I would check the placement chart for your yournger one and see if she would fit.

WE did LHfHG last year for K & 1st grade. We are doing Beyond this year for 1st & 2nd. It is SO nice to have them both in the same thing! :D My younger one (1st grade & 6 yo) struggles a bit with the copywork so I have been copying the poem into her notebook with space between the lines and then she copies it on the blank line. She is doing the Emerging Readers. DD #1 is finishing up the 2 Emerging Readers she didn't finish last year and then we will start DITHOR. I got the Bigger guide for the 2nd grade math activities since the Beyond guide only has the 1st grade activities.

Hi there! I agree the placement chart is accurate and easy to use. Here's a link to that:

Could you tell us a bit about each of your dc's reading, writing, and math? Then we'll all pitch in and help you get a good placement for them. :) I do 3 HOD programs and enjoy it immensely, but others combine and enjoy that immensely too - so just share a bit about each of them, and we'll help you think through it. :D

Julie

I would definately look at the chart. I am using LHFHG with K for my daughter this fall (march turned 5yrs.) and Beyond for my 1st grade son (turns 7 in October). It is definitely doable.

Hi Wendy! How are you doing with your thoughts on placement? We'd all love to help if you could share a tad about each of your sweeties! I know placement can seem tough, but it's really not when we all put our heads together. :D Anything you could share about your dc will help! :)

In Christ,
Julie
