I'll give my oldest son more time w/ Bigger before I rave about that too much as it has only been 4 days. Things are going well for him, but I am scaling back the amount of work just a bit to ease him into it. (i.e. we haven't started spelling.)
I am so excited about LHFHG w/ my 5 and 7 yr. old boys, though!! They beg for school. They love Reddy Fox! I love how much fun they are having with the rhymes (we're in unit 2.) Most importantly, it is helping build their relationship to use this program together. They actually spontaneously hugged today! They argue the most of all my kids, so it brings tears to my eyes to see this change in their relationship.
One more thing: Carrie KNOWS boys! I shouldn't have doubted it because she has 4 and her sister has 3!
I am amazed, though, at how these curriculums are written to account for the activity that our boys need. The book choices are so appropriate too. We are reading George Rogers Clark for Bigger. My boys are all eating it up and carrying it over into their free time play.
Thank you for your help in placement! I appreciate the time that Carrie and Julie give to this board. I also appreciate other HOD users chiming in!
