Poem Activity in Beyond Little Hearts

Hi,
I was going through my Beyond guide and saw for Poetry on each Day 3 (I believe) that Carrie has suggested making a copy of the poem and cutting it up for the student to put back together. I'm wondering for those that do this, do you cut it up word by word or by phrases or lines?
I'll be using this with my 2nd grader next fall.
Thanks!

Charlene,
I'll answer this so it bumps to the top of the board, and maybe some other moms will chime in with what they do!
In the beginning of the year, I cut mine up into chunks by stanza. Then, as the year progressed, I cut mine up into 2-3 line chunks and toward the end of the year by line. I never did get down to cutting it up by word. I think that would have been too challenging for my little guy.
Blessings,
Carrie

Hi Carrie,
Thanks! I was just curious how the moms were doing this. I remember reading about a similar activity in one of the Charlotte Mason books about doing this type of thing with nursery rhymes.
Thanks again!

Charlene,
Yes, you're right.

Charlotte Mason did do a similar thing with reading passages used for reading practice with nursery rhymes. What a wonderful educator Charlotte Mason was!
Blessings,
Carrie

We've finished unit 4 and we too divide it by stanza. But I'll print each one out different; different colored paper, different font, just for pizazz.

Hi Annaz,
That sounds interesting too! Thanks for the suggestion.
BTW, I'm trying my best to figure out how to include a clip from someone else's post, but I'm "Message Board" illiterate! Please excuse my awkward attempts.
