Im am new to the board and have limited access to the computer. I have 2 grown dc and a dd16. God has surprised us with an angel from heaven and she is 2.5. I have purchased LHTH for her. I havent used it yet but will begin so soon. I have a question as well. She already knows her letters and their sounds and some number recognition and can count to 15 (most of the time ). Will this still benefit her? It looks absolutely wonderful! im thinking that it will cement what she already knows in her brain a little better and als o im sure that there is much more to learning than the ABCs that she will need to be well rounded. im already startng on character development so i know this will help. I guess im just wanting to hear from someone who has used this and want to hear what agea it worked best on and all the extras. lol!

Hello and Welcome! I began LHTH in March with my DD3 and she LOVES it. How I wish that I had found it in time to use with my two oldest dds. We are going at half speed alternating 2 days one week and 3 days the next week. I agree with you that it will help cement what she has already learned. Blessings to you as you make your decision.

Welcome to the board! People will use LHTH for 3 and 4 year olds sometimes, so I think it can be beneficial even if they already know their letters. We used it with my son and daughter the summer before I started homeschooling my daughter for Kindergarten. She was beyond it academically, but it was still good for her learning to follow directions.

:D Welcome! :D

LHTH is wonderful!! It does so much to teach their little hearts besides the fine and gross motor skills, dramatic play, beginning math, science & letters mixed in there. Garret did this with his sister while he was 2 and she was 4. They had a blast! :D Now this year, I've restarted it with Garret while he's 4. If I just had one child doing it, I think that I'd purposefully go slowly through it to make it last longer so that I could move into LHFHG the following year. I love Julie's (my3sons) ideas in this thread for spreading it out. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5600

Hi and welcome to the HOD board! :D

We are using LHTH this year with my 4 and 2 yr. olds. They are really loving it. The 4 yr. old knows a lot of letters, numbers, colors, but it so enjoying this program. She is really deepening her learning and enjoys working with her little sister, and Mommy of course. We are talking a lot about the stories we're learning in the Bible. They are becoming more real to her than ever before. She is asking so many questions and spiritually is learning so much!!! :D

My 2 yr. old is, of course, learning a lot of this for the first time, and is soaking in so much. It's so good to see their tender little hearts growing before your very eyes! With all the activities involved in this program, you can really do a lot. There is so much fun mixed in with learning that you could adapt it for several ages. It's really a "little gem" of a program for little ones and surely a blessing in this home!

Blessings as you begin with LHTH!

In Christ,

Lisa

LHTH is an awesome way to begin homeschooilng! :D All 3 of my dc have fit the description you have given of your dd when they began LHTH, and all 3 of them have benefitted so much from doing it. Your dd will learn to follow directions, to say a sound for each letter, to sit and listen carefully to readings, to answer short comprehension questions about the readings, to increase her fine motor skills of writing/coloring/cutting, and to love the Lord and His word! :D These are all skills to be grown into, and they are a joy to teach. I would definitely spread LHTH out over 2 years, so you can begin LHFHG happily after it. I am doing half-speed LHTH with our third ds and enjoying it so much. HTH, and welcome to the board! :D

In Christ,
Julie
