Our 1st week!! THANKS!!

Our first week went great!! Now I am wondering what all my anxiety was about?! I didn't know if my little guy would pick right up with TRL, that was my big hesitation, but he did awesome. We actually started out half speed for a day or two, but it was clear that he was ready for full days. Not to mention, after reading one chapter of Reddy Fox, he was ready for more. It's his favorite part of the day. We are also doing LHTH with my 3yo, not really separately though. They both do both, if the 3yo gets bored, I just let her go play or look at books in her room. I love how the lessons are really very short and sweet. He does not have time to get bored before we move on to another box. Its a great visual for us to check off the boxes! He can really tell we are getting stuff done. Thank you Carrie a million times over!! HOD has truly made our homeschool possible! I suppose I am more excited and passionate about hs now than ever before!

Congrats on a great first week!

We, too, had our first week with HOD. It was wonderful! I've never been able to say before that I love our curriculum! It has brought a love of learning back into our home! I pray that we can use HOD all the way to graduation!

Our 1st week as well! I was anxious also but ended up enjoying the week we had using LHTH. My dd looks forward to it everyday. She even requested it this weekend! Looking forward to homeschooling now. Thank you Carrie for making it so easy and fun to use

Well our first week was great for three days then he got sick. So we only got three days done. I was so hoping to stay on schedule. Oh well that is the beauty of homeschooling.

You're in for a year FULL of wonderful memories with your kids!! HOD makes me totally love homeschooling! It's definitely the best part of our days - my kids agree. Just today, Garret was listening as Allison read from her Bible to me (for the Emerging Readers). She was reading about the golden calf, and he said, "I remember making a golden calf!" Last year we did that while using LHFHG half-speed...and it really stuck with him.

Today, Allison listened to the story of Danny Meadow Mouse helping Peter Rabbit...and drew a picture & wrote a sentence about helping someone. She chose me...and was helping me paint my toenails (can't reach them currently ), vacuum, and take care of the baby (soon to arrive).

Glad you had a great 1st week! It will keep being great!!

Began week 2 today and ds is still going strong! He is eager to do school each day and wants to show Daddy some of his papers each day! He is able to read words to his Dad already, even though we are just on lesson 2 of TRL. DH is impressed and he can truly see an improvement in just 6 days of HOD. I started Motivated Moms today, so maybe I will soon be able to impress DH with my tidyness too!
