Finished our first day :)

Post by jenntracy » Mon Aug 02, 2010 10:03 pm

We finished our first day with LHFHG ad Beyond. I have to figure out how to best schedule the individual stuff with each kid. I also have a 2.5 yr old which the main reason i need to plan a little better. We had to finish up in afternoon during her nap. i know we had long breaks in between some things. I think the cd player will have to go in the 2.5 yr old room when we read. she wanted to listen to music and it is in the same room practically where all the school stuff is. It would really keep her busy if in her room.
I got a short doze from 4:00 to 4:20pm. I was exhausted. the kids are already looking forward to tomorrow's school. Yippee!

Glad you had a good first day!! :D Keep plugging away at it and you'll find the routine that works for you. Have you seen the *schedule thread*? Here's a link. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2093 There are some pretty detailed responses in this thread and lots of great ideas for keeping little ones occupied while olders are learning. I hope you are blessed with a wonderful year with HOD!! :)

Today went so much smoother. Did everything with daughter in LHFHG starting at 9:15am first. took break for snack in between her lessons. Started with son in Beyond around 11am and did everything except science and music. Done by 12:20pm.
The 2.5 yr old was playing or being watched by the kid who wasn't doing lessons.
I was so proud that i kept myself off computer.:) Computer really gets in the way of the flow of things.
Gotta get used to 2 programs. last year LHTH was a breeze with LHFHG. this year is a little more time consuming and i have to be aware of that.
I love school!

Good job! :D I've BTDT with the computer. I actually recently asked my hubby to put a password on my laptop so I won't be on it while he's at work. I was still getting school done but I found that all my free time during the day was spent on the laptop. Now I have more time to sew, knit, or read like I used to do before the internet. :) I still have the home computer if I need to print something off for school but no more sitting in my easy chair with the laptop loosing track of time during the day.

Hello Jenn,
Thank you for sharing and I am glad that all went well for you. :D I think Leah had a great idea for those Mom's who can not stay off the computer during school hours. I learned that a long time ago, it's one of the little foxes that spoils the vine :( With texting I can even stay off the phone now as well:oops: ... Just a quick text that I am busy :D .. I have times where I turn the cell and house line off not to get tempted to make calls during the day, or receive them :D
I think as the kiddo's need to do more school and the days get longer, it all comes together.
You are right school with HOD is even fun for Moms :D :D :D
