??? Bigger with 2nd and 4th grader???
I am going to be using bigger for my 2nd and 4th grader... but i was wandering, i am just not clear. should i order the extensions for the 4th grader. i thought they were for a 5th or 6th grade level, but now i am seeing that the catalog just says for upper elemetary age? So any one using bigger for 4th grade, what do you do? thank you so much!!

Re: ??? Bigger with 2nd and 4th grader???
According to the paper catalog, Bigger is for 2nd and 3rd grade. So I would think, yes, buy the extensions. (Though don't quote me on that because we aren't that far yet.
)

Extensions are for grades 4 and 5 in Bigger.
The below is taken directly from the Bigger Packages Section of the website, just under "Extension Package for Older Students"
"Adding this optional package to the Economy Package extends the areas of history and science to include more advanced, independent reading material. This allows your 4th and 5th grade students to learn along with your younger students.
Note: If you enjoy reading literature that corresponds with your history studies, another option would be to read-aloud these titles to your younger students. This would be in addition to the read-alouds you are doing for the storytime part of the plans."

Re: ??? Bigger with 2nd and 4th grader???
Thank ya'll so much!! My son is just a young 9, so she says i could go either way... i think i will go ahead and order the extension package, and start regular (without extensions) then maybe add in the reading parts of ext. later, then if that goes well i think i will add the narrations and notebooking. He would probably really enjoy those things anyway>
