? R&S placement, also TRL ?

Thank you ladies for your replies. Bigger would definitely fit 9 yo ds (would have been PS 4th grade) better as introduction to this new way of doing school. Would start him in level 2 math. Probably extensions in the reading. I am pretty well settled, except I'm uncertain about the R&S: 2 or 3 ??? Any specific points / skills in this area which would help me decide which grammar is better fit???
Also dd 5 yo (6 in Oct) reading some sight words "the, etc" and simple 3 letter words. She hasn't really caught on to the fact that she can read. lol but I'm seeing her do more and more as the days pass just from an occasional lap / story session. Can we wait to start TRL for economy sake?
