Another Bible testimony...

Post by susie in ms » Tue Mar 11, 2008 8:03 pm

This is no where near a salvation experience, but I think it testifies to just how well the Bible is presented in HOD.

I am currently doing Little Hands with a very wiggle 2 yr, 8 mo old little girl. She is ALWAYS wanting to be read to and often says "I'm reading" when she has a book herself. However she is often all over the place while *I* am reading. I often wonder if anything is sinking in.

First let me mention that we have TONS of books as that is a huge weakness for me. There is a lot for her to choose from, but the books she goes to the most is her "Bible". Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes. This book is all floppy and loose from her handling it so much. You can find it all over the house, especially by the potty chair. She needed to potty the other day and did a quick turn around saying "MY BIBLE!!" and ran to get it before going to her potty chair!!

Well, the other day Hannah was watching The Story of the Candy Cane and at the beginning they show the ark and the flood real quick. Hannah pointed to it and said, "In BIBLE!!" She had remembered the story and it had been a long while back since we had read it! This wiggly all over the place sweet heart remembered it!!

This being the largest part of Little Hands has made a starting impression on her relationship with the Lord. When she sees someone praying in her "Bible" she prays, all wiggly like, but she prays. :D

Simple as this little story is, I think it testifies to just how well the Bible is presented in HOD even from Preschool. :D

PS- This board needs more smilies!

That is so sweet. Isn't it wonderful when they really connect. There is something about HOD that really just puts it in their heart. 8)

That's great that it's sticking with her. Soon, she'll be asking to say grace.

susie in ms,

I love hearing these stories! Nothing more satisfying than having your little one become passionate about, and interested in the Lord! I am still in amazement how much my daughter retains with the bible lessons and how much interest she has toward them.

I think it might be time to get your little one her second copy of The New Bible in Pictures" for potty time, especially if she is such a wiggly little one!!!

Oh, about the smilies, I have recently become addicted to these little critters so, here you go... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

susie,

Thanks so much for sharing about your precious little daughter! :D There is no greater compliment that you could give our curriculum than to say that it is helping turn your little one's heart toward Jesus. That is our prayer for each of our guides.

You made me SMILE today! I too, need more smileys! :D  :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Susie -
This touches my heart! Being privileged enough to see the first signs of knowing God is such a blessing - and how amazing that your young daughter is already showing those signs! As moms we watch and wait for this, and it's just such a special moment when we see it. God bless you and your little wiggly girl as you use HOD and see her draw closer to God!
In Christ,
Julie
