We are doing BLHFHG and we are reading through the beginners bible ,we are also doing LHTH and reading aloud A childs First Bible,we did LHFHG and we read aloud the Family Time Bible,so I have aquestion from my 7 year old.He wants to know when he gets to read the 'real bible'.Does HOD tackle reading the whole bible ? I think recently he discovered that there is more in the 'real bible 'than in his beginners bible and given his pedantic nature-wants to read all the bible. At the moment he is not quite ready reading wise.

It is my understanding that you can always choose to use the real Bible if you want to. I like to read from both sources. HTH

We read the actual Scripture in LHFHG on up for all of the Bible memorywork and provide the Scripture references for all Bible stories in LHTH on up, so you can read them from the actual Scripture if desired.

Each of the programs in HOD has a very healthy dose of the Bible running throughout, so you'll find that you're in the word often and repeatedly throughout each of our guides.

For example, CTC has the kiddos reading through Esther, Ruth, Jonah, John, Luke, Acts, and many passages from the Old Testament too. Bigger focuses on various Proverbs. Preparing works through memorizing entire Psalms. CTC focuses on Genesis Chapters 1-11. RTR goes through an in-depth study of Philippians and so on. There are so many passages of the Bible that the children are reading in history and science and using for copywork that it would be tough to list them all here! As far as reading the entire Bible through from cover to cover, we are looking to schedule that at the high school level for our own sons. From our perspective, there are portions of the Bible best reserved for when a child is a bit more mature Christian. Your perspective may differ.

Hope that helps!
Blessings,
Carrie

Thats very helpful Carrie-all he needs is to know when-he has his little quirks and one of them is the inability to understand vague answers like 'when your older 'or 'later 'or 'soon'-so now I have a prescise answer to his question-he will be happy thankyou

I look forward to all the HODguides as he grows -HOD is very bible centred and I love that.
My boys like it when I read from my bible in their lessons .I do a mixture of real bible and childrens bible for Stanley because he likes pictures too.Thankyou Carrie
