We have been very hot and dry for awhile. Unusual for PA. Our area is severely dry, threatening crops ( we are in a big farming area), and now affecting wells. My sister just informed me that 2 places in her county neighboring ours had wells run dry. Only scattered T-showers are predicted for the next couple of days. We are entering a very desperate time. Please pray for rain in the northeast, as I'm sure other states may be affected as well.

My pastor reassured us last night that rain is certainly coming because they planned a picnic at their house for Friday. It has rained at every picnic they have ever planned, so he is sure it will be raining yet again this Friday!
You are right, we do need rain.

I'm in PA too! It's absolutely terrible! All the grass is burnt to a crisp. We need rain, but not next Tuesday. My dd is having her really special, much anticipated birthday tea party.

We are in central PA and have had temps near 100 degrees for the past 3 or 4 days. They are only calling for scattered T-storms Friday and Saturday for our area. Then it is back to dry. We seem to be at a spot where the rains that come toward us break up when they hit the mountains before they get to us. At least that's how it has been prior to this drought. It is still in the low 90s at 8:30pm. The corn here is curling. A farmer lost 2 acres of hay when a fire started from what was believed to be a spark that flew from his equipment hitting a rock. Just wanted to give a picture of how bad it is getting here.

Praying for you (and wishing we could send you some of our moisture)! :D

I think being in farming is just a CONSTANT reminder of our dependence on the Lord in everything! We can't make it rain...and we can't make it stop. We can only but trust in Him to provide for our every need amid the difficult or blessed circumstances we find ourselves in year after year. Here in Kansas, we had several years of hot and dry weather (that led to very little to feed the cows that was worth much). But, God has faithfully provided our needs, and we haven't ever been lacking what's necessary. The last 2 years, we've had much cooler and wetter weather. (And the thought did cross my mind that a brown yard would be much less work than a green one  ....as I bumped along for 3 hrs on the lawnmower 8 months pregnant. But seriously, I am thankful for a nice green lawn and the tall corn across the road and the alfalfa growing away for its 3rd cutting - that we're hoping to actually be able to bale without rain! :D )

Praying that you'll be blessed with some refreshing showers! And thankful that we can trust in The One who isn't surprised at any circumstance we find ourselves in!

:D Kathleen

Praise the Lord! We are getting rain as I'm writing. Almost a half inch! The first line that went through totally missed us. But God saw fit to bring some to us. Even Angelina, dd(7), recognized the significance. When the first line missed us, she said, "God isn't sending rain." I said, "He will." Minutes later it started raining. DD was in bed and I was reading to her. We heard it pouring and went to her open window to feel it blowing in on us. She yelled, " Woohoo! Rain! Thank you God!" She was so excited! No better way to see her faith grow, but by answered prayer. :D Thanks to all who joined us.

Yup! It's raining in my part of PA too! I just hope no rain for Tuesday - selfish I know, but it's my little dd's friend bday party that she's been looking forward to for a long time!
