The Guide says to use a paper bag. I have 2 paper grocery bags, one is brown and one is white. Is it best to use a brown paper bag or a white paper bag? Or does it not matter. I suppose the brown one would make a darker brown paper after being dipped in the coffee water than the white bag.

Thanks!

You really could use either. I think the brown will end up looking more like a cave wall. When we did ours, we didn't have a brown paper bag. I can't remember what we used instead, but it turned out well, and we kept up for six months.

We used the brown and liked that! The cover of the PHFHG Photobook actually has an example of the cave art, in case you're interested (just click on the PHFHG cover to see it bigger) :D :

Thanks Julie! We used the brown. He painted the first animal on it today, but he won't let me see it -- he says it's going to be a surprise.... :| I don't know if that's a good thing or not....

I'll post an update when he's done. :)

Well, now you are going to have to share this, as I am wondering what it could be as well! :D Let's hope it's one of those good surprises... boys make life so very interesting, don't they?

He's done with his cave painting! It looks great! I posted a picture in the "Projects" area.
He is so funny how he didn't want anyone to see it until he was completely done!
