Italic handwriting workbooks

Post by momofgreatones » Thu Jun 10, 2010 5:34 pm

For those of you who have used the Italic workbooks, did you find that they provide enough practice? I love the italic handwriting and want to continue it, but I need some more practice for my son than the workbook pages provide. :) From reading the intro to the workbook it sounds like they kind of expect that you'll make your own practice pages or have them just practice on unlined paper. I've never taught my kids handwriting in that way so I'm a little hesitant exactly how to go about it, maybe I'm being silly.

Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and what did you do about it?

Thanks!
Monique

Monique,
I love the beauty of those books! We have purchased duplicates of each level in the past to alleviate the need to practice on unlined sheets. We don't typically need to go through everything twice but it helps if more practice is needed. My dd9 struggles with doing any sort of work on unlined paper. As a matter of fact, she struggled with Science copywork today in Preparing for that very reason (this was easily remedied by using lined paper, by the way).
Hope that helps.
