I have several that need to do dictation.Oops I meant Narration( )
I am so crazy today. I tried to pay the water bill again that I just paid.

How do you do it with several students?

It's my understand that it is schedlued in the different guides. (I'm only using LHTH right now, so someone who knows for sure will have to straighten you out if I'm wrong. )

Yep, Kathleen is right. The lessons for how to do narration are scheduled right in. It starts with a gentle intro. of how to ask questions and get your kiddos thinking about what they've just heard in Little Hearts, and then it just builds and progresses as you work your way through the programs. Makes it very easy for mom!

Sorry....just noticed the rest of your question. I'm sure you'll get different answers on this one and I would love to hear from others on this as well. I usually just take turns.

Sometimes we take turns by days....such as today Emma will tell us______ and then the next day someone else will narrate. Sometimes we take turns with the same chapter, I just have one tell the beginning, one tell he middle and one tell the end.

Sometimes we will draw our narration and those are always fun. We usually...well always....have more than one book going, so sometimes let one child narrate from one book and another from another book....just make sure they don't do the same book every time.....keep 'em on their toes. Sometimes we act out the chapter. We don't narrate from every book, some are just for fun.

All of these ideas are actually scheduled in the manual, so you don't really have to rack your brain to come up with ideas....which is something we all can appreciate!

Don't worry....once I actually took our electric bill to the water supply office and handed to the lady through the window! She told me it happens all the time.

I can't remember who shared the CM-idea of having a red bean and a blue bean in your pocket for narration time and assigning each child a color of a bean. Then, you randomely pull one out and the child assigned that color narrates. It is the "luck of the draw".

I'm thinking it was CM herself that wrote about that idea! I read too much and at times it runs together! You can have as many colors of beans (or colored unifix cubes or whatever you can put in your pocket to represent various children) as you have narrators. If the same child has to narrate twice in a row, then thats the way it is! CM did say that the other listeners can have a chance AT THE END of the narration to add any missed details (or a few subtle corrections done lovingly).
