I know this has been asked before...

But are the TM's for the R&S English truly necessary? Especially with the lower grades i.e. 2 and 3? I am getting ready to place a big order and am wondering if I need to throw these in.

I don't know if they're really necessary in the younger grades...esp. for level 2. However it makes it faster to grade their work. Plus, as the levels progress the work does get more difficult, and I know I don't always know the answer, even as someone who is 'strong' in english and grammar. So I would say purchase the TM, esp. for the higher levels...and save time when checking the work. Just my 2 cents! :)

No for level 2.

In level 3, they have oral review questions that are great to use at the beginning of each lesson. We used those this year and found it beneficial to make it stick. :D So, I'd say yes on level 3.

Hi Monique,

I'm new to this board and HOD, and I'm sorry I don't have an answer to your question, but I noticed that you are using CTC with a 14yo with high school add-ons and extensions. I'm really interested in HOD for the older grades, because our dd is going to be 13 in early September (going into 8th grade), and I am hoping we could maybe use it for high school (with CTC, RTR, and the upcoming years).

How has your experience been so far using HOD with older children? Is it hard to make it high school level or do you see using it throughout? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
