2 questions on placement & box order

I know HOD is designed more for age/developmental level rather than "grade", however, that being said- doesn't Carrie have curriculum after RR that goes to the 8th grade level? So it would seem appropriate based on the child to go in a sequence of
K=Little Hearts
1st=Beyond
2nd=Bigger
and so on? Especially if they start K at an older age, like say 6yrs?

Also, if I do half speed on a manual, I see some do left one day and then right side the next. Does that flow well? Does it matter which boxes are first, an order?
Thanks ladies!

The ladies already did an awesome job of answering you here, so I'll just add we've done portions of LHTH, LHFHG, BLHFHG, and BHFHG half-speed before going full-speed with each of our dc and enjoyed that pacing immensely. Considering proper placement by using the placement chart is the best way to know where to start and has been very accurate for our 3 sons, so here's a link to that in case you hadn't seen it yet:

If you have more questions, be sure to ask. We like to help each other out here! :D
