Are the Math Activities listed anywhere else?

Post by south5 » Sat May 15, 2010 12:48 pm

I got LHFHG for my soon to be 6 year old son. It is perfect for him except for Math, he completed Saxon 1 this year. I am switching to CLE math so we are doing Grade 1 again because it is more advanced. I really love the math activities listed in Beyond and Bigger. I just wondered if they were listed anywhere else without having to buy the whole manual. Thanks..

No, the math activities are not listed anywhere else as far as I know. I will say that the activities really go with Singapore math and it might be difficult to match up the activities with a different math curriculum. It is probably doable with some major planning (the key idea/concept for each activity and workbook pages are listed in each math box), but just wanted to make you aware that the activities are based specifically on what is covered in Singapore. HTH! :D

They aren't listed anywhere else - oh my - I shudder to think of the length of the guide if all levels were included everywhere. The guides have so many options packed in them already that they're starting to resemble hefty phonebooks! Get your workout outfits on gals, we've got to lift some HOD manuals today. (I am using 3 HOD manuals, do you suppose this could count as my workout time?!?). Seriously though, we got the next guide for the hands-on math for one of our dc and were glad to have it. I figured it was just like putting money toward my next HOD guide rather than math textbooks. I was glad to already have it the next year too. BUT, if you'd rather not do that, you can just do the textbook/workbook plans scheduled in the Appendix or your own math program choice instead. HTH! :D
