Summer Reading Book Suggestions on England...

We are in between Bigger and Preparing this summer. My dd would like to learn about the UK, Queens, and castles. I would love to have some summer reading suggestions that won't be duplicated once we get to RtR. Anyone read any young learners books on Reformers or the Reformation that might interest a 9 year old girl (I'm looking for short chapter or picture books)? Also searching out similar ones for Queens or Medieval Life (other than DK types).
Thank you!
Amy

Here are a couple of our favorites besides the obvious junior versions of Robin Hood, King Arthur, Ivanhoe, etc. (books that can easily be read multiple times with increasing difficulty each time).

Children of the New Forest by Marryat http://www.amazon.com/Children-New-Fore ... 323&sr=8-1 This is a longer chapter book. Sorry.

Ten Girls Who...Series by Howat http://www.christianbook.com/light-keep ... ew=details These work well with younger children because each book features 10 different women. You can read one "story" at a time rather than being overwhelmed by a whole book.
