idea from HOD photobooks

After looking at the beautiful photobooks for HOD (great job Julie!) at the convention, I thought why not do a yearbook for my children for our year with HOD. When our children are not in school they don't have Class yearbooks, but wouldn't the grandparents and our children especially love to see our school year and what we've done. I am just planning to take pictures of us doing the different school activities throughout the year with HOD and make one book. The HOD books are so cute. They were made on Shutterfly. Many of the online sites have photobooks you can create easily and quickly. Also, you can watch when it's time to order and get a coupon code to get a discount. I've even came across codes to get one free. Hope this inspires you to document your year. I just wish I had thought of this sooner.

I think that is a great idea! Those books were nice.

It made me realize how fast we let life go by without slowing down to catch it all in pictures. I think it is a great idea! Let us know if you find any good deals!

You can take your pictures throughout the year, work on creating one and keep it saved until you find a online special. Recently upromise sent us a code for a free photobook but it has a quick expiration date. So, just have it ready when one comes along. We are just starting our year for this year. I plan to take a "School picture" to put of each child in the front and then just have pictures of different activites that we do throughout our school year.
We also video the kids singing their hymns and send them to grandparents online. They love this. Takes a skeptical grandparent who kept asking when they would go to real school and really changes their heart to see what you've been doing. This was not my original idea. A friend was posting her daughter on facebook each time she memorized a hymn.

Awe cute! Great to keep family supporting you!

My dd is writing hymns and expecting that they will actually sing them at church, hahaha! But I think the singing and the poetry in HOD was what got her thinking that way and it is not a bad way to pass the time.

We're doing the same thing! I've been quite the shutterbug and the hardest part will be choosing which photos to include and which, sadly, to leave out.

That is a great idea!

Thanks for the encouragement too, ladies! I need to do this for my own dc. It has helped me to take pictures each week for the HOD weekly check-in. Then I have at least some pictures from every week, and I also have my description on the weekly check-in. My memory is fading as I get older I guess - I need the notes from the check-in to remember.

I'm hoping to put all this together in a photobook for our family too.
In Christ,
Julie

I thought about doing this as well. Having a hectic last few months, thanks for the reminder. It's on my list to do this upcoming year!

It's been great to just work on it slowly. You will be suprised at how quickly you can create a very cute book. You can always reorganize the pages after putting them together. I moved a few pages around. Mixbook was so easy to use and many of their premade books are so cute. I used one that was for a elementary school yearbook.

Amy,
What a great idea!

I agree that Julie did a terrific job on the photobooks. I love to see my kiddos' smiling faces in them.

I'm sure your sweeties will treasure having their own.
Blessings,
Carrie
