I Started Apologia Early & Need Advice

I noticed that you have made Apologia's Astronomy a part of one of your upper level guides for Science. Before I knew this, I had wanted to do a little "more" for Science and had begun it with my children who are in Beyond. We are only on lesson 3 "Mercury". What would you suggest I do? I have thought of a few options and am open to whatever you suggest as well.
1. Go ahead and finish the Astronomy with my kids this year and do another one of Apologia's books with them in lieu of Astronomy when the time comes.
2. Quit Astronomy and start it over when I reach the HOD guide that offers it.
3. Something else?

Thanks!

We have used Apologia Astronomy this year too. My plans are to do it again when we reach the RtR guide. My boys are enjoying Astronomy this year, but I know they will retain so much more information the second time around.

We also completed the suggested Astronomy book this past summer, so I will be doing Option 1 as well as Option 2 during this next year with RTR to replace the Astronomy book. I was thinking about this when I read a post by Carrie answering someone else's question concerning this same issue. I believe I am right in saying that Carrie felt like this would work just fine for science within RTR.

Hi Shannon! Since you are only in Lesson 3, I'd be apt to stop it and do something else, as it is going to pair so well with RTR. The other ladies had good ideas to ponder too. Certainly, for those that have already gone through this book, using the Option 2 book in place of the Astronomy works just fine. Also, if repeating it is not a big deal to you - especially if you have some time off between the repeat - than that works fine too. I guess I just like for things to feel new and fresh if they can, and I also like to use the HOD guides as they are written as much as possible as it requires no tweaking and is totally open and go for me. I did read CHOW three years before we read it again with CTC, and I thought that was just fine (and my dc remembered with much more fondness and clarity the second time through with HOD anyway) - but, I'd had quite a few years between the readings. Those are just a few thoughts, but you will know whether you'd find it worthwhile to just make the switch now to something else for this year and save it for later, or whether that's just not something you would want to do. HTH! :D
