Hi again, sorry to be asking so many questions, and thank you all for being so friendly and helpful in answering them

. I think this will be the last question for a while.
I am looking at getting Bigger HFHG, and am wondering is the extension package for older children meant to be used instead of the economy package or as well as?
Thanks in advance,
Annie

The extension pack is to be used with older children who are doing Bigger along with your younger kids. It has a science and history selection, as well as other readers for the child to read on his/her own. You could also read those aloud instead, but the package is meant to be in addition to the rest of the Bigger package. I will be using it with my 8 and 10 year olds next year, with the 10 yo using the extension pack. I haven't decided yet if we will read the ext. books aloud or just let him do it. I like knowing what they're doing, and learning what they're learning, so I'll probably opt for reading at least some of them aloud. HTH

Annie,
InHisTiming did a great job of answering your questions!

I'll also mention that the Economy Package is the required part of all of our programs. Then, you add packages onto that to fine-tune it to meet your family's specific needs. So, you would add the Extension Package on to the Economy Package if you needed it.
Blessings,
Carrie

Just wanted to add that Bigger is full and complete without the extension package, but if you feel your older child can read those book on her own and would enjoy additional history and science, then add them on! I have a 4th grader who reads just at level, and she really wasn't enjoying the extra readings, it was just tedious-but she is getting plenty without them. The extension books are excellent for a truly independent and perhaps a bit advanced reader.
