Bible Study in RTR

I'm sure this is a question for Carrie,
We just began our journeys in Preparing (ds) and CTC (dd). We will work through the summer, so my dd will be ready for RTR around mid year next year. I noticed that dc are gaining a good overview of the Bible during the quiet time readings in CTC. I'm so excited to see my dd's growth as the year progresses

I'm also very excited that dd will read through Acts and John as the history readings. In RTR, are dc only studying Phillipians throughout the year? I know Pillipians will be studied deeply and inductively. Will there more Bible readings included, as well? .
Thanks.

Deena,
The books Peril and Peace, Monks and Mystics, A Story of the Middle Ages, and Mystery of History III are all very strong in Christian/Biblical content and tone, making the daily stories a blessing to read. Diana Waring's What in the World is a terrific Biblical overview of the time period and God's plan for mankind, bringing the pieces of the puzzle together in a Christ-centered way. In addition to those resources, Hidden Treasures in Philippians will look at other portions of Scripture beyond the book of Philippians as kiddos will be asked daily to study God's word. The kiddos will also memorize daily from Philippians 1 and sing it.
Looking up and copying portions of Scripture for history and for science is also a part of the plans each week, along with very God-honoring books for science within every science book choice for RTR. Exploring Creation with Astronomy, A Child's Geography, Exploring Planet Earth, Along Came Galileo, and the Sower book on Newton are written from a Christian perspective and are full of references to God and His word. Kiddos will also be reading and applying passages from the Bible in conjunction with the Purity study each week for Beautiful Girlhood and Boyhood and Beyond as they learn how God wants them to honor Him with their lives.
You'll find RTR to take a different path in its presentation from anything else out there, as it is unabashedly filled with resources that reference the Bible and that are written from a Christian perspective. God's word is at the heart of each HOD guide, and RTR is no exception!
Blessings,
Carrie

Wow! Thanks Carrie! I was only asking about the quiet time in RTR, but you gave me such a great overview of ALL the Biblical content included in ALL of RTR. I'm glad Hidden Treasures in Phillipians will lead dc in other places in scripture, and I'm so excited to begin the purity study with my dd. I'm hoping to make it a sweet, precious time between us. The thing I love most about your guides is your heart to lead dc in applying scripture to their lives and really making it a part of who they are, not just making Bible study head knowledge but training in heart wisdom. You also truly cover all the bases. Thank you for your dedication and hard work. Now, if we can only get you to come to the CHEC convention in Denver again. I met you and Julie way back when I was trying to decide between MFWK and LHFHG for my dd (we chose the latter

). You only had the two guides out then. You have come such a long way on this journey. Keep on persevering!!!

Deena,
I'm so glad that the glimpse inside RTR helped give you a fuller picture of our newest guide!

My goodness how time flies!

While we'd dearly love to exhibit at many various conventions, the Lord has us closer to home to be able to write a new guide each year and to school our own kiddos.
It doesn't seem like that many years ago that LHTH and LHFHG were our newest guides. The years go by faster as I'm getting older!
Blessings,
Carrie
