Two with LHTH...how will this really work?

I am wondering how this will work with my two younger ones. Veronica knows most of her letter sounds and names but I wanted to give her a good start with LHTH. With her delays she can use the review. The youngest is just turning 2 in May, I know he will love the songs and is always up for a good book or story or art project.

I guess I am wondering what I will do when Veronica is ready to move up which I am thinking might be in the fall. I want to start teaching her to read and move her along a bit with some of her other skills. Will I just be keeping the youngest in LHTH? Will he really do it three times? He is very verbal and quick to pick things up but I don't want to rush him either. I am thinking he can go play with big brother while I do some of the work from LHTH with Veronica.

Can anyone share any thoughts with me? I will keep praying on this I am sure the answer will be made clear to me.

Thanks,

Well, we're actually currently doing LHTH for the third time with our third ds and loving it. But, as much as I love LHTH, I don't know that I'd do it 3 times 3 years in a row. If I were you, I'd move Veronica up to LHFHG, and have your other ds take a year off. Then, the next year when Veronica is doing Beyond, I'd start your little guy in LHTH. :D It's neat to have a year between teaching guides, as it feel fresh to us again and is fun to come back to it then. :D HTH!

In Christ,
Julie

I would start DD in LHFHG and then wait until your 2yo was 3 or so and start him with LHTH maybe two days a week? That way it would take a couple of years to do, give them separation, have you not doing a manual so often and let them mature into the next manual better.

Thanks so much for the ideas ladies. Veronica has down syndrome so her little brother has been quickly catching up to her. :( It will be good for them to be doing seperate things. Plus, I know I just don't challenge her enough.

Now I have some new opitions to ponder and pray about.

Thanks!
