I am very excited about getting started with LHTH once my books arrive. We have a 12yo DS who is using Oak Meadow, a just turned 7yo DD who is blessed with down syndrome and our youngest son will be two early in May. DD has pretty significant expressive language delays and some behavior issues. DS2 is very verbal and a real busy go-getter sort of guy.
I was pointed to HOD when researching Oak Meadow for DD, two families recommended LHTH as being something they used with their children with down syndrome. I read a few posts on the message board and got a really good feeling about how the program might work for her. I can hardly wait. I am wondering about how many times we will end up doing it and how many times DS2 will be interested in doing the same thing. He will be tagging along at such a young age. But, I am just going to focus on doing the activities as presented and not trying to add on anything extra or change anything around. We have tried too many different things for both the older kids. I have concluded that I just need something all laid out for me. I am one of those who is always seeking just the perfect thing and wondering if something else might be better. No more of that for me.
Just wanted to introduce myself and I am sure I'll be around with questions as they come up. I would love to hear from anyone who might be using the LHTH with their child with down syndrome.
Blessings,
Christi
