Official HOD user in 7 weeks!

Post by psreit » Fri Apr 16, 2010 10:32 pm

I have to start counting down now. DD will be finished with school (K) in seven weeks. I've decided to use LHFHG instead of Beyond, so I put Beyond books away. I received Little Hearts yesterday. I'm so glad I decided to do this. DD wanted to see the 101 Stories from the Bible. She soon came and said 'Mom, I like the Bible Stories'. She doesn't really read much, but just looking at the pictures was enough for her. For the months of June and July, I plan to just work on TRL and, at the suggestion of Julie, will work through Little Hearts Earlybird Math, since dd is struggling in certain areas. This will keep things fresh in her mind, as well as continue to move her forward. Please pray for dd as she finishes out the year at school. I am noticing some falling back in some of her work. It's frustrating not knowing why she is having these struggles. Pray that with the help of her O.T., and possibly some other testing, we will find ways to help her thrive in her work. Her mind is very sharp in certain areas, but there are some areas that she just has trouble processing information. I'm glad for the 'bite-size' portions in HOD. That will be so good for Angelina. I think some of the work at school is moving too fast. I need to let her finish school. She has done well with Scripture memory and will receive an award for that, which will make her proud :D Then we can settle into helping her become a 'little heart for His glory' :D Once again, thank you Carrie!

Forgive me if I repeat myself. I have been so excited about HOD since I found it in February. Because of our circumstances, I just couldn't begin right away. I just want to remain connected while we wait a little longer :)

Pam,
It's so nice to hear of your continued excitement. I can really tell that you love your little girl and want the best for her. Praying that you can find ways to help your dd thrive. Hugs to you.

Pam - I'm so glad you received your manual and have been able to go through it to see how well it will work for your sweetie. :D It's neat to be able to really peruse the guide and see what your days will be like. Your dd is almost done with her school this year - hooray!!! :D I wouldn't worry too much about her seeming to fall back in some skills - I think we probably all did that at the end of the school year when we were kiddos. We are in our final days of CTC, and I have been reminding ds to slow down and show me his best work, as he is still loving it but on the path to finish. :D I can't wait for you to start HOD with your dd - I'm happily counting down the weeks with you. :)

In Christ,
Julie

Pam,

I'm excited for you to begin HOD too! :D It sounds like you are working very hard to find the best fit for your sweet daughter. I pray that the two of you will love LHFHG as much as we have with our own sons! :D

Blessings,
Carrie
