Wondering what's next?

I am seriously considering scrapping TOG for next year and going with RTR, the problem is I really need to know that I won't be left without a future. Have the guides consistently come out each year or does it seem to take a little longer? I don't want to switch if I don't have an immediate future. I know, RTR just came out; but if the next one doesn't follow immediately I would be in trouble.

Carrie plans to release a guide each year until the history cycle is complete.
You can find the plan at the bottom of this page:

So far it has been very consistent with the release of the new guide, being available to pre-order around April of each year, with the guide being ready to ship in August.

Come on over to the HOD world, Christi!
Have no fear - Mike and Carrie pull out all the stops to be dependable. Carrie has been writing guides for 8 years, and as you can see she's written 8 guides. So, barring major health problems, you can count on HOD having your next guide done on time. I do, and I've yet to be disappointed.
I think you'd love HOD - you'd have all of the wonderful living books along with the ease of the no-prep plans. We are currently doing 3 HOD guides and loving our homeschooling experience. I'd love for that to be your life too!
Be sure to chat over any questions you may be having here, and check out the placement chart - as it's super easy to use and accurate.
In Christ,
Julie

Thanks ladies. I've been doing LHFHG this year with my 6.5 and 4.5 year olds, we absolutely love it. The teacher guides help so much, my husband can do it, I can do it and sometimes my 15.5 year old helps out with the reading. I keep getting drawn to look at RTR for my olders, just wasn't sure if I should do it. Now, I'm convinced. I love Tapestry of Grace, but it is honestly just too much work on my part, I can't find the books and so many of them are the same as what is sold along with the teacher guides here.
I showed RTR to my husband along with the book lists and the sample week and he was SOLD!, take the stress off of me and motivate my boys with a schedule that they can keep to. Carrie has seemed to truly do all of the work. Thanks!!!!!
I'll be here alot this summer to ask questions as I delve deeper into RTR and decide what to purchase. I plan on starting with DITHOR right now and work on it over the summer with the boys while we wait for RTR teacher's guide to be released. The boys will be doing MUS Geometry and Apologia Biology over the summer, so I was hoping to do DITHOR with them, maybe with some of the CTC books that we didn't get to in TOG. If anyone can suggest some books that might work with a 15 and 13 year old, please feel free to share. I need all of the help I can get.
Thanks A Bunch,

Thanks A Bunch,
For the 13 yo, here's a link to the oldest DITHOR packages. They go up to a sixth grade, ninth month reading level, and they are wonderful titles.

The extension package for CTC is geared for mature 6th. and 7th. graders, so those books would work as well. Here's a link to that:

At the same above link, the CTC Read Aloud package for Boy Interest have some upper level book titles as well. The reading level (RL) is listed behind each title.
If you haven't done some of the titles in all of PHFHG, any of those would be wonderful as well.

I know others will chime in, but maybe this can help get you started. If you are doing DITHOR 3 days a week, you only need about 5 titles for each child, as you will get through about that many genres at that pace. Happy hunting!
In Christ,
Julie

Thank you so much for the links, I'll get busy researching. We're getting ready to start for the summer in the next week or so, we're all really excited for the bigger boys to join us in the HOD family. TOG was great but my oldest was getting so tired of me not getting his weekly schedule done, now it will be done for me.
I'm loving HOD!!!!
