Ya know how it is when you make the decision to go with a curriculum but it doesn't seem like it's official till you're holding the materials in your hands?? Sooooo happy to have the manual to really look over for the upcoming school year!! I really think dd6 is going to enjoy this (as well as me!!)

Does anyone here teach HOD to one child(ren), but a completely different curriculum for olders? My ds9 would not enjoy this type of curriculum, so we're piecing together something that will work.....I'm just wondering how to make it all work time-wise!!

I did this year. We had chosen Bigger for ds10, even though he really didn't fit there. By about 2 months in, it wasn't working...I knew I needed to move up a level, but I wanted to do American History. I ended up going with R&S for History and Science and pulling togeter the rest. It has worked well, but I am bringing my ds back to HOD next year...and this time, I am putting him in the correct level/manual!

Hi Cheryl! I'm so glad that you received your BLHFHG manual and are enjoying seeing all of the fun ahead of you. :D I agree - it's exciting to get our hands on the materials and begin to envision our exciting year ahead. :D I am currently finishing up our homeschool year and have taught 3 HOD manuals. I am quite stress free and happy in the day to day of our lives. I have 3 very different sons who learn differently and have different interests. So, while I haven't done a different curriculum with my kiddos, I have done 3 HOD guides at once, and managed to have a very enjoyable year. :D I think you'll love doing Beyond with your little sweetie, and I'll just throw out some encouragement to consider doing HOD with your older. I believe my sister and I have just about all learning styles and personalities represented among our 7 dc  , and they all are thriving with HOD, so maybe that's something you can ponder down the road. I hope you have a wonderful school year - I'll look forward to hearing about it! :D

In Christ,
Julie
