DITHOR question

I'm very interested in using DITHOR with my dd who is going into 5th grade next year. I understand that you need to schedule out a reading schedule for the book that is going to be read. And I see that there are pre-reading activities. But how much of the book do they read before beginning to answer the questions? Do they read the whole book before beginning? Or as they go along? How many days/week should they be using it? Thx!

I am using DITHOR this year with my 5th grader. We use it as scheduled in Preparing so we do it 3x's a week. At that pace we will finish 5 genre's this year and 4 next. You have a page in the student guide to do each day. Sometimes they do the page before they read the pages for the day and sometimes afterwords. My ds has loved DITHOR this year. It really makes him think. The questions are not your typical just fill in the blank questions about the story. He has learned about analyzing the setting, looking at the mood of the story, looking for biblical character traits etc.
