1st Day with LHTH

Post by Busymomma1 » Tue Apr 13, 2010 9:56 am

Hi all,
At the Cinci Convention, I decided to buy LHTH for my 4 y/o. I've always been leary to jump into a 2nd program while teaching another (we're currently doing Beyond with the older 2 kiddos), thinking I was one of those who wouldn't like doing 2 programs. But let me just say, it was soooo easy to do! My little guy quickly got into the swing of things once we got the rhyme going and the music CD, too. I think he's pleased to have something that is FOR HIM. Makes me feel better, too! And another plus... my 8 y/o dd wants to help teach LHTH to her little brother! She read the Bible story to him, and did a little activity with him. Isn't that one of the beauties of homeschooling? The olders helping the youngers, and thereby helping Mom, too? :-) Yes, Carrie has made it easy enough that my 8 y/o can teach, too!!!! And Julie, you told me each box would take no more than 5 minutes. You were soooo correct! I'm glad we can work with my little guy and it doesn't take a major amount of time!

Carrie and Julie, thanks for your advice at the convention, too! It was such a pleasure to meet you both! I also bought Bigger for next year, and it looks FANTASTIC!!!!

Have a blessed day!

Yes, you will love it! My dd completed unit 28 today and begs to do her "school" each day. :D We're also going to go through it again next year with the older book options.

Tricia,

I'm so glad that you had a great start with LHTH. I second what Jessica said...it's FUN and you're in for a fabulous year of learning with your little guy! :D I am with you on appreciating the fact that you can spend some short & sweet & effective time with a younger one that really gets them learning and growing spiritually as well as academically. Have fun! (I just restarted LHTH a couple weeks ago with my 4 yo, so we're with you on the LHTH journey!)

Thanks, ladies! We are in week 2 now, and my little guy is just loving it! It is so nice that he has his OWN school now. :-) My dd is enjoying reading to him. Blessings to you all on the journey, too!
