Jump from Little Hearts to Beyond

Just trying to plan - our son is doing very well with Little Hearts and we add in extra reading or art, etc. He has no trouble with listening and we have been reading from the boy and girl storytime packs from Beyond. We are on track with TRL and that is going well. I am trying to figure out what to expect with the jump to Beyond this fall. Do you find it goes pretty smooth if your child was doing great with Little Hearts? I was not planning on going to 1/2 speed, but of course will adjust if needed. Just looking for input. Thanks.

The transition to Beyond is wonderful after your child finishes Little Hearts. We did 8 weeks of Beyond last fall and then dropped back to Little Hearts because my son wasn't quite ready yet. I can absolutely see how Little Hearts has prepared him for Beyond and I have no doubt it will be a seamless transition. HTH.

We've done this transition twice now, and it went well both times with our 2 very different sons. :D If dc are doing well with LHFHG, they will be ready and do well with Beyond. Have fun with the transition - it's exciting to see the gains made! :D

I did it this year with a 5 year old and a 7 year old. I was a little worried that the younger one may have a little too big of a jump. It has really worked out very well. :D There is a enough room there to cover a wide degree of capabilities. You do have the option if you need of going half speed in the beginning as well. So if by chance you were to find it to big of a jump that is an option. But I think if you find that LHFHG is going well then the transition will be perfect for you. :D Enjoy! Beyond is a really fun year!

We transitioned last year with NO problems!! DD went from RME, to easy readers over the summer and into the Emerging Readers with barely a hiccup. We struggled with math, until I bought HIG and now that has been smooth for months. The biggest problem with math was when my dd was struggling with a concept and reviewing the activities didn't help I was lost as to what to do. :( I wouldn't say the HIG is necessary for all people, there are many on this board alone who have gone without for years with no problems, but I guess I'm just a dunderhead when comes to math and need all the help I can get! :D But this problem in no way reflects how feel about Beyond. It has been a great year, and has only gotten easier as the year went on as my dd's skills have gotten stronger.

BTW, I did plan on going half speed at first but found that I did not need to and my dd's day isn't complete without a history reading. :D :D

Hope you enjoy your upcoming year with Beyond!!
