First Day with HOD!!!

We began HOD today! I had planned to spend a couple weeks planning, creating our schedule, and soaking in everything and start after our Easter break...but the kiddos (ok, and me too!) could not wait to start. Last night I looked over Preparing's first day and decided we would just do it! It truly was so easy to get up and begin this morning! My 10yo enjoyed all of it and his work in Draw & Write through History was super! He loved being able to do some things on his own. Everyone participated in his Bible for today because they were so excited. I did not plan to start my 6yo today but after watching and listening to big brother she begged to start hers too. So...we did day 1 of Beyond later in the afternoon also! I will have self-control and hold off our youngest until fall to begin LHFHG because I want to make it last for most of k and 1st grade but he loved watching the other two today. He even remembered part of my 10yo's Bible verse and told my husband at supper, "you don't walk in the counsel of wicked"!

We are so blessed to have found HOD and what a great resource this board is!!

We started HOD yesterday as well, it was so awesome! I only wish I had found HOD sooner, it is definately an answer to prayers.

So glad to hear this! Thanks for sharing! We haven't officially begun HOD (buying at Convention in a couple of weeks for next year), but it was so good to hear that it was so easy to just pick up and go and didn't take weeks of preparing, planning, and prepping.

YAY! Day 2 was excellent too!

Edwena, I just wanted to say that it absolutely was pick up and go! I sat down for a minute today to skim over the next month's worth of plans and the only thing I needed to grab at the store was cotton swabs...and that's only because we were out! I did get a couple other things to use but they were wants and not needs.

It was so nice to see my sweet kiddos having fun while doing school! We were using an excellent christian curriculum but because it was written for schools and I'm a go-by-the-book kind of person it was overwhelming and stressful to me. (I can get way too caught up in details! ) I am so glad we started it now instead of waiting until the fall!
