Hi,
I just ordered a catalog and was looking at the website and wondering if the new program Resurrection to Reformation can be used for a 14 year old going to 10th grade. I am just finishing TOG year 1 and I wanted to start using HOD in July. Resurrection to Reformation starts pretty close to where I end in TOG with Rome but I am not sure if it is suitable for highschool. Can someone give me some advice please??

What to use in 10th grade?

Joanne,
I believe that we've corresponded on this by email, so I won't type out the whole response on the board.
I'll be thinking of you as you're pondering your options.
Blessings,
Carrie

Hi Joanne,
I have a 13 y.o. who will be 14 in Nov. We plan to use RtR. However, he will be in 8th grade.... I'm a bit confused with the age and grade of your kiddo... We have really enjoyed using HOD guides for my older dc. You will want to add more to your child's science and math in order to make it high school credible.

Re: What to use in 10th grade?
Hi Julie,
My son is 14 years old and finishing 9th grade and will be 15 in October just beginning 10th grade. He is using for Math TT Algebra I and will continue with Geometry and for Science he is using Rainbow Science Physics and Chemistry and will continue with Biology in 10th. We are doing TOG Year 1 which is pretty much ancients up to Rome and was trying to decide between continuing History chronologically by using RR from HOD or start with American History Core 100 with SL. I love the way HOD has their guides and curriculum set up and I thought that RR would be a good fit for us specially after struggling so much with TOG. As for SL, I have never tried it before but it seems a good option for American History and has very good reviews from what I read on their forum. If anyone reading this can pitch in with previous experiences I am more than glad to learn from others that have already been there. My main question with this thread was to know if RR was deep enough for highschool in terms of History and Literature and if not, how could I add some things to make it a highschool level program? Like I said before, I just love the way it is set up and I know there was a huge level of work and dedication to come up with such a great curriculum. My congratulations to Carrie and her team!!!
