Praise the Lord!

We are on Day 2 of Unit One in LHFHG, and my 5 and a half year old were discussing the importance of the cross in history. Well, finally it came down to the fact that Jesus had to die on the cross, to take our sins away. And my little son said, "Jesus has taken my sins away." I said," He did? Did you ask Him to?" His reply, "No."
I then went on to explain that if we want our sins taken away, we have to ask God to. He said he wanted to have his sins taken away, and so he simply prayed," Dear Jesus, please help God to take my sins away." Hallelujah!
We have been praying for this day since he was an infant (as we do with all our dc). I am so thankful that I can be at home to share the Good News with my own children, and that even in History Class we can discuss the True Author of History and His plan for mankind.
Thanks, Carrie, for making sure that this is not just "education" for the mind, but food for the mind and soul. I praise God for working through HOD today.
In His love,
RuthAnn

WOW! What an exciting start to LHFHG! For the first couple of weeks after we started Little Hearts, my son was often heard mumbling under his breath, "History is HIS Story..." as he went about his day. I am sure he had heard that before but something about covering it again just clicked with him.
My kids have been so blessed through HOD. They have grown spiritually and are really enjoying having Christ at the center of their school work. The further you go into the guides, the richer the discipleship becomes. Just this morning, we had a long discussion about eternity and how people who don't know the Lord or the Bible have developed false ideas about their futures. It was a wonderful and fruitful discussion that just developed naturally after we had learned about Socrates in Preparing.
So happy for you and your little one!

Praising the Lord with you today! There have been numerous time when our HOD lessons turn into those "truth-revealing" moments too!

Praise the Lord, indeed! You are off with a bang! LHFHG was such fun for me to do with each of our boys. The whole year just keeps building and building - it is a great way to learn all of those beginning concepts in such a fun way. Those are years to remember and treasure. I'm so glad you shared this, and I know that though nothing can top our dc filling their hearts with Jesus, LHFHG keeps the year focused on this.
In Christ,
Julie

RuthAnn,
I'm praising the Lord today for the way that he is working within your child's heart.

We consider ourselves blessed to be able to talk about the Bible with our kiddos each day throughout the school day and doubly blessed to be able to share moments like these with families like yours.
Thanks for sharing! Your post brought tears to my eyes, as I know the Lord is speaking to your child's heart.
Blessings,
Carrie

I'm praising the Lord with you, too, RuthAnn!!

How wonderful! I totally agree with you that these precious moments are exactly why I'm thrilled (even on the tougher days) to be home with my kids and have the opportunity to teach them and talk about what's in their hearts and share God's truth. I wouldn't trade it for anything!
