Hi!

I just wanted to let Carrie and her family know that I just saw the new HOD ad in the Homeschool Enrichment magazine and I love the new look. It is amazing how ads speak to people. it looks great!

We are continuing to be blessed by our HOD journey. I am so thankful that the Lord led us here. We are excited for the upcoming RTR guide. CTC has been good in so many ways. We are enjoying poetry and the painting. The history focus has been just right for this age. I was always hesitant to introduce my younger kids to ancient times with all the paganism involved so this has been great because we have spent the last several years establishing a foundation on our belief in the word of God and who He is so it makes our discussion hilarious! Let me explain: In our lessons, I am amazed at how history and science point to a Creator (I was public schooled all the way and it is so nice to have 'proof' now) and my daughter goes 'Duh, mom'. For her it is common sense to believe that God is involved in everything. She is amazed that people would believe anything else. So now, with CTC, we are able to discuss what others believe and give her tools to explain/defend her faith. I so appreciate HOD's philosophy and book choices. It is really helping me accomplish our goals for our kiddos hearts and minds. We have taken two years to do Beyond. It has been a blessing as well and my DD is happy to do school. She is enjoying the American History Focus and can't wait to get into Bigger, which will happen the end of April!

Thanks again, Carrie, for all your work. You are making my calling as a homeschooling mother so much more doable than if I were trying to put everything together myself.

May the Lord bless you today and may he give you strength and encouragement.

Jess

Jess - We too are loving CTC and so thankful for so many of the same things you mentioned here! I know Mike and Carrie and their graphic designer worked very hard on those ads, and this will certainly be an encouragement to all of them. As they have made it a priority to homeschool themselves, they are unable to travel to very many conventions, so advertisement is one of the ways they hope to continue to get the word out about HOD. It's good to hear you saw the ad and loved it! Thanks!!! :D

In Christ,
Julie

As soon as I read this, I had to go find the new copy (which I have not had time to read yet) and take a look. Looks great!

Jess,

I'm so glad that you loved the new ad! I'll pass along your kind words to our graphic designer. He works so hard to make everything our company produces look professional. The Lord has blessed us with him! :D

Thanks so much for your encouraging words about CTC too! :D As we are in the thick of writing RTR, it uplifts us to hear that families are being blessed by the guides. We pray continually that the Lord would bring those to HOD who would be blessed by it, so we know you are an answer to our prayer. :D

Thanks for sharing!
Carrie

Can you find this ad online anywhere? I don't get any publications, but I'm so curious as to how it looks.

I saw the ad the other day when reading my mag. I also think it looks so good. I considered posting about it, but I am still a little new with this kind of thing. I'm just not super comfortable starting a new topic yet. So, I am so glad you did it for me. Thanks.

Speaking of advertisement, our homeschool group had a small used book sale a couple weeks ago. I didn't have much to sell, because I like to keep everything, even if I don't use it. But, I took all the HOD stuff that I have (LHFHG, BLHFHG, PHFHG, LHTH, DITHOR) and displayed it in bins so everyone could see this wonderful curriculum that I love so much. There were a lot people asking questions and looking through all the books. It was really neat. I was so excited to have others see how special HOD is. I know at least 3 families are planning to order HOD for next fall. Isn't that cool? 8)

I have to mention this too, because you guys are talking about being blessed by HOD. We are in week 14 of PHFHG, doing the dinosaur stuff right now. I was very surprised how my ds reacted to what The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible said about the T-rex. He just couldn't wrap his mind around them not being "super-killers". When he was reading the assigned pages that day, he had such a serious look on his face. I asked if everything was okay. He said, yes, it's just this stuff I'm reading. After he finished, I had him tell about it. He was so shocked and a little disappointed (he's such a boy). I think it is so great that Carrie has picked books that can really open our eyes to see history the way God created it. This is a great book. It does a wonderful job of explaining the dinosaur questions. My son is reading it independently, but I have been reading it also. I am learning so much teaching my boys with HOD.

The new ad is wonderful! It's the reason I looked up HOD to start with! It's very eye-catching. To be perfectly honest, I almost didn't check it out! I thought there was no way I'd be able to afford a curricula that looked so rich! Thank you for being such a blessing to our family by keeping your prices so reasonable! HOD is a true answer to my prayers...

Robin :)
