After the thread I started on the HOD weekly check-in, one of the responses, has led to my next question. With HOD do you need to purchase a separate art program or is that taken care of in HOD? Thanks, ladies.

That is taken care of...at least in Beyond and Bigger. I haven't gotten farther...yet.

If you're talking about art projects, yes it is covered. There are projects each week and they are all tons of fun. If you're wanting more of an art history/appreciation or picture study than no that is not included that I know of.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I *think* there was mention of a some sort of art app.history in the future guides...I know there is some music app/history in Preparing (Mozart book/cd).

But if you mean drawing, painting, and art projects...it's all in there!

Yes, it's all in there, and as the children grow older, the art projects increase in difficulty, and also allow for self-expression. In other words, the intent is that each child's art project should look different from each other's somewhat. For example, this year in CTC, we are doing watercolor painting along with Robert Frost's poetry. I have loved seeing my ds's ability to work within this medium grow, and when I've seen other dc's painting from CTC, they look similar to his, but also quite different as self-expression shines through. Each year the art in HOD is slightly different, but within the year, there is a constancy to build skills. :D

In Christ,
