Riding Freedom- Genre?

Post by threegreatkids » Tue Feb 09, 2010 3:11 pm

My girls are reading Riding Freedom for a book club. I'd like to use it for DITHR this month, too. We've not been doing too well with DITHR (even though we really like it) because they have co-op reading assignments, book club assignments, etc. I think the answer is to overlap.

So, I see that Riding Freedom is an adventure book in the 4/5 pack. One dd has already done the adventure genre this fall. Do you think it would work to classify it Historical Fiction instead?

threegreatkids,

One of the terrific parts of DITHR is that books can often fit into multiple styles of literature for the purpose of the study. Riding Freedom is a very adventurous book, but it also would fit under historical fiction. It's good to note that much of this book is true, so it's exciting to see the history part come to life within it! :D

Happy reading! :D

Blessings,
Carrie
