Flood/Fossil Question

Post by threegreatkids » Tue Feb 09, 2010 2:55 pm

DD9 is currently reading The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible for science. She just asked a good question, and I wonder if anyone can help me find the answer: "If dinosaurs and people lived at the same time before the flood, are there dinosaur fossils and people fossils together?" I told her that I've never heard that there were, but I really don't know.

We've all become really interested in Creation Science as we've been listening to Jonathan Park CDs as a family, so I'd love to know more. Does anyone know the answer to this particular question, or any resources that might be helpful in finding out? It does seem like there should be a reason.

Of course if there were people and dinosaur fossils together it might not be widely publicized...not great support for evolution.

Thanks :)

DH and I were talking about this the other night. He said that there have been a couple of places where they found human footprints along with dinosaur footprints/fossils. I'm not sure where he got that info though. I can ask him when he gets home from work.

Yes, isn't it fun to learn this stuff?! Here's some more resources.

AND take a look at what Answers in Gensis has to offer. We also love the Jonathan Park Audio Series - it's a great Creation-based adventure full of science facts and the Gospel! My boys also really enjoyed Dinosaurs of Eden - I think this is scheduled in CTC.

Part of the problem also is what are you calling a human. Fossils "are" what they get classified as and your premise on whether creation exists biases your interpretation of the evidence. :D

You might want to check these books out http://www.answersingenesis.org/PublicS ... 0,224.aspx
they answer all sorts of questions concerning evolution and Creation, one the questions answered is why you don't find human fossils with dinosaur fossils. As long as you interpret science through the lens of the biblical creation and not the other way around you will find that most of your questions are easily answered. HTH!

I've driven past this place a few times on my way to Dinosaur park In Glenn Rose, TX. Has a huge sign outside see human foot prints next to dinosaur prints but I've never had the $$ to stop in tho. (parents always get us a park pass for Christmas)

I just read this article...thanks, Nancy! I'll read the other one later today and share with dd. What great information. I might buy those answer books soon, too.

This stuff is SO fascinating!!! I love that dc are learning about science and creation at a young age :D
