Book Genres?

I am reading "Black Beauty" to the children. What "genre" would this be categorized under?

I'll just move this post over to the Main Board where more moms will see it. All new posts begin on the Main Board.
Black Beauty could actually fit in several genres, but I'd lean toward placing it in Historical or Realistic Fiction.
