We will be using R&S 5 next year. It is my understanding that outlining is introduced in that level of R&S. I would like to know if outlining will be included as assignments in the HOD guides. I've looked through past threads and it seems like outlining will not be included (separate from R&S) in CtC. So, I would like to know if the HOD guides will incorporate outlining (again, as assignments) in the future guides.
Thanks for any info.!

Donna - Carrie will answer this question better than I can, but I do know outlining is included next year in RTR within the Medieval Writing lessons.

Donna,
We will be including outlining within RTR and the guide to follow in the history cycle in preparation for high school. In RTR this skill will be introduced and taught through Rod and Staff English and will also be taught in a modified form (and utilized weekly) through the Medieval History-Based Writing Lessons. So, we will be covering outlining within RTR. We will also plan to cover it in the following guide through Rod and Staff as well.
While we do feel that outlining is an important skill to be taught, we feel it is best done in slow stages. We also desire to balance the teaching of outlining along with the more CM-skills of written narrations, oral narrations, and copywork (along with timeline, mapping, and research) to provide balance within the kiddos' responses to their readings.
I hope that helps!
Blessings,
Carrie
