We are just starting the timeline in Beyond, and I would love to see some others' samples of their timelines. Does anyone have a template that they would love to share too?
Thanks so much!

Julie,
I really like your timeline. I just made a grid in Microsoft Word with the dates across the top and printed it on a standard sheet of paper (8x11) sideways. I made the boxes as big as I could, but they are just not big enough for one of my 2nd graders to fit his writing and drawing. I think I will use your idea for the next two boys coming up who will use Beyond next year. Thank you for sharing your pictures! It looks like you used two file folders attached together. Is that right?

I don't have a picture of ours but I took a big sheet of packing paper and put the dates at the top of 5 sheets of copy paper. I taped the copy sheets to the packing paper (could use poster board, I had packing paper on hand ) in order. DD1 can draw and write comfortably, see it easier, and it's displayed for everyone to see.

Thanks - I'll let Riley know you liked his handiwork!

This is actually just a 12 x 18 piece of white paper folded so the sides meet in the center. It's worked great, and it was simple to make. I'll have to post a picture of it again now that he's 1 week from finishing Beyond. I'll try to do that on the weekly check-in - that's such a good way to keep me taking pictures to chronicle our fun journey through guides.
In Christ,
Julie

Thanks, Nancy!

I really can't take credit for the idea because it's really from the HOD guide itself, except I had no file folders on hand, so I ended up just folding the white paper I did have. I do love being able to see the entire time period we're studying on one piece of paper at a glance though. It makes it much more clear to my ds how time passes, and what pacing we're moving through the history we're studying. Thanks!
In Christ,
Julie
